Hello all! Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays, and regretting eating that extra piece of pie, because I sure am! Anyway, I had some time to play around with my new camera and finally had a chance to take some night shots! My previous cameras weren’t capable of doing this so to see these come up on my cameras lcd screen really got me excited (nerdy, I know). The first shot was on Christmas night, taken at my grandmothers. The second was a few days before New Years at around 2am when it was clear for once. For the people who are familiar with DSLR settings and interested in night shots, my settings were 25 second exposures for both, F2.8, and variable ISO settings (640 for the first, 3200 for the second). Shot with a Canon 60D and a Tokina 11-16 lens. Comments and questions are always welcome! Enjoy
Barefooting with the Guys
I have a little break from weddings, so instead of being a ghost on my site I thought I would invite you to see some of the stuff I do for fun. I had a couple of friends out to my camp for the day last weekend to try some barefooting. My new GoPro camera was the perfect candidate for the job, and I just stuck it on an extendable pole so I could get right in front of them. I caught some pretty good wipeouts, some good face expressions, tons of laughs and a whole lot of fun! So sit back and enjoy!
Jason + Marnie 05.07.11
What an awesome way to kick off Spring with a beautiful wedding like this one! With quite a few more familiar faces in this wedding party, it made the day’s shoot really enjoyable. Not to mention the enthusiastic sound effects I got from one of the guys when I did my glidecam shots. For early May it was really hot and sunny, but I’d prefer the heat over cloudy skies and rain any day. When we were shooting at the Soo Locks, we stumbled on a mother fox with her pups, kits, or cubs (don’t really know which it is) in a den. Sometimes the mom was only 30 feet from us, which was just a little nerving!! Overall, the footage came out better than expected and it was an awesome day!
Drew + Amanda 12.31.10
This was my first winter wedding and everything went perfectly. Firstly Drew & Amanda were very understanding and patient as it was only my second shoot. They were fun and made the entire day a blast to film; never a dull moment! And secondly the weather was really mild creating the awesome thick fog during the photoshoot which you couldn’t pay to get a better picture. Luckily we were almost done shooting at Hiawatha when 2 ladies came out lookin’ pretty mad and told us to leave because we were wrecking the ski trail (like the 10 degree weather wasn’t already). Other than that the day was great and and couldn’t ask for better weather!
Welcome to Cody Grant Wedding Films!!
